Who Is Canary Human Capital Partners

The Right Support for Your Organization

Canary Human Capital Partners is a boutique HR advisory firm helping organizations solve HR problems, strengthen leadership, and navigate growth and change. We provide senior-level HR consulting, fractional and interim HR leadership, workforce strategy, and organizational transformation.

Healthcare is a core specialty. Our expertise also extends across professional services, logistics and distribution, fabrication and manufacturing, information technology, and other industries—including mission-driven and faith-based organizations.

We meet organizations where they are, tailoring support to their maturity, internal capacity, and goals. An engagement can address one challenge, team, department, facility, or service line—or support the entire organization.

We help leaders prepare for what comes next, whether launching a startup, preparing for an initial public offering (IPO), navigating private equity investment, or guiding an established organization through growth and change.

Our work might include building an HR foundation for a startup, strengthening payroll and benefits processes, preparing leaders for growth, or aligning people practices during an investment or organizational transition.

Capabilities span workforce strategy, HR operations, total rewards, employee relations, leadership and organizational development, culture, HR technology, and change management.

We can work alongside your existing team, provide fractional or interim leadership, or assemble expertise for a specific initiative. Engagements range from focused assessments and projects to longer-term strategy and implementation.

Together, we define the scope, responsibilities, milestones, and meaningful measures of progress. Start a conversation about your organization’s needs or explore our services.

We serve as the calm in the chaos—the strategic advisor leaders rely on when things get complicated, and the partner who brings clarity, structure, and momentum to every engagement.

Dawn Zell Wright, JD, MBA, FACHE

President

Dawn Zell Wright believes organizations succeed, stall, or fail based on the people decisions they make every day. How leaders listen, set expectations, organize work, address concerns, and support their teams shapes both the employee experience and the organization’s ability to deliver on its purpose.

She founded Canary Human Capital Partners to help people and organizations thrive. Her approach brings together executive HR leadership, operational understanding, and a willingness to work through the details alongside the people responsible for making change happen.

Dawn’s leadership experience spans academic medicine, community hospitals, regional and national health systems, and organizations across other industries. Her work connects leadership accountability, positive employee relations, and culture with organizational priorities. She helps translate core values into measurable behaviors—connecting success with both what you do and how you do it.

For Dawn, thriving means creating workplaces where people can contribute, grow, and do their best work, while building the organizational strength to serve customers, fulfill a mission, and sustain performance. Getting there requires clear expectations, thoughtful communication, capable leaders, and follow-through.

An attorney, healthcare executive, educator, and author of Canary in the Coal Mine, Dawn brings a broad perspective to complex people challenges. She meets organizations where they are, helps them understand what needs to change, and partners with them to put practical solutions into action.
